In line with India's Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, Random Talker has a Grievance Officer who handles complaints about content, other users' behaviour and our moderation decisions.

What you can complain about

  • Content or behaviour that breaks our Terms, such as harassment, hate, sexual content, scams or impersonation
  • Someone you believe is under 18 using the service
  • A ban or restriction on your account that you think is wrong
  • How we handle your personal data

How to make a complaint

Email the Grievance Officer at [email protected] with "Grievance" in the subject line, or write to the postal address above. Please include:

  • What happened, in your own words
  • The date and approximate time, with your time zone
  • The other person's display name, if you saw one
  • Screenshots, if you have any
  • For a ban or account issue: the email on your account, or the date of the restriction

Calls are never recorded, so the details you give us are often all we have to go on.

What happens next

  1. Acknowledged within 24 hours

    We confirm we have received your complaint within 24 hours.

  2. Intimate content removed within 24 hours

    If content shows you nude or in a sexual act, or impersonates you (including morphed images), we act to remove it within 24 hours of your complaint.

  3. Resolved within 15 days

    We investigate and send you our decision, with reasons, within 15 days.

If you're not satisfied

You can appeal the Grievance Officer's decision to the Government of India's Grievance Appellate Committee within 30 days of receiving it, at gac.gov.in.

In an emergency

The Grievance Officer isn't an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 112. To report cybercrime such as online harassment, threats or fraud, call 1930 or visit cybercrime.gov.in.
